Finals week can be very stressful. You are swamped, tired, overworked. How can you do it all?
I’ve been in college for two years now and have picked up some tricks that help stress levels stay low and help you survive.
Here are some coping mechanisms I use to survive finals week, which is Dec. 15-19 at UW-Stout:
- Schedule your whole week. It helps you manage your time better and remind you of everything that needs to be done.
Find a stress buddy. You may become very stressed, and having a friend to hang out with and joke around with will help your stress levels. My friends and I get together and play video games or watch movies and give back massages.
- Go to bed early and eat. Eating regularly and getting enough sleep will not only reduce your stress but also help your brain function at its max.
- Last but not least, take advantage of the opportunities the school is offering. The college I took classes at before this had a “stress free” week with masseurs, therapy dogs and free snacks.
UW-Stout is offering therapy dogs in the library from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Good luck on your finals, and happy holidays.
