A Valentine for Everyone

The day has finally arrived. You are either dreading it or looking forward to it…..it’s Joylin BaranickValentine’s Day. So I decided to find a delicious recipe for singles, couples, or groups of friends to try for fun!

French Toast in a Mug

I thought this 2-minute French toast in a Mug recipe by Prudent Baby was genius. Mix it, zap it, and serve it up for you or your loved before your day gets busy. I mean come on, who doesn’t love breakfast food?

First you need bread. Any kind of bread will work! I prefer my french toast softer than most people but if you’re someone who likes a little crunch go for a bagel! It honestly doesn’t matter. An old croissant, nutty multigrain, or some old tortillas might even work, I am not joking..

Anyway, you will need 1 or 2 pieces of bread per mug. I usually make 2 mugs at once because then I can split the egg, but you can totally be super awesome and make one huge cup with more bread and a whole egg.

breadNext you are going to cut your bread into cubes.

Now you want to get your mug/s ready. You are going to butter the inside by either rubbing a piece of butter around it, or you can just melt the butter in a microwave and rub it that way. It’s all up to you, whatever floats your boat.

butterPlace the bread in your mug/s. About a slice or a slice and a half will do it. Smush it down a bit but don’t make it super compact because you need the liquid to from the eggs and milk to work its wait in there. Now in a separate mug do the following:

-crack an egg into it

-add 3 tablespoons of milk

-sprinkle cinnamon

eggmix-if you like your french toast really sweet or vanilla-y, add a single drop of vanilla extract (I don’t do this, but it might make you love it even more)

Now put your mug into the microwave and start with one minute, and add ten seconds at a time until it’s cooked to your liking (no runny eggs). In my microwave that’s about 1 minute, 20 seconds.

Did you know that the Skylight Market in the MSC offers heart shaped-pizza on Valentine’s Day? How totally awesome, right? All you have to do is order a full pizza and ask them to make it in the shape of a heart. Your beautiful masterpiece will be ready in about 15 minutes!

Now if you don’t want pizza, you can now do something that is simple and sweet. At the Service Center in the MSC you can order Valentine’s Balloon bouquets for someone special, your good friend, or even your cat!

Whatever you do decide to do for Valentine’s Day, I hope you enjoy it! Even if that means sleeping in all day, going on a date, or just hanging with friends!
